Associate Professor of School of Arts, Renmin University of China

Fang Boran est professeur associé à l'école d'art de l'université Renmin de Chine. Il a étudié le piano depuis son enfance et a commencé à apprendre la clarinette en 1992. Depuis 2003, il est invité spécial et interprète principal de divers orchestres, tels que l'Orchestre symphonique des jeunes du RIAS de Berlin, l'Orchestre des jeunes de Berlin, l'Orchestre philharmonique des jeunes de Berlin, l'Orchestre philharmonique des jeunes de Munich, l'Orchestre symphonique national des jeunes de Berlin, l'Orchestre symphonique « de concert » de Berlin, l'Orchestre symphonique de Macao, l'Orchestre philharmonique de chambre de Saint-Pétersbourg (Russie), l'Orchestre du festival de musique de Reinsberg (Allemagne) et l'Orchestre philharmonique d'Asie. En 2005, il a participé au célèbre festival européen « Schleswig-Holstein » en tant que chef d'orchestre et musicien de chambre et a effectué une tournée en Europe.
In 2005, he graduated with honors from the School of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin and received Master's degree. In the same year, he was admitted to the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar (Germany), where he continued to study for a soloist degree (equivalent to a doctorate) under the tutelage of Professor Martin Spangenberg, the famous German clarinet master. In 2009, he graduated with the highest grade of "Bravo". During his time in Germany, he was invited by many musicians to perform in new music works and record CDs. In 2008, he was invited to collaborate with Rolf-Dieter Arens, the director of the Weimar Conservatory of Music, to give a solo concert at the Hundisburg Music Festival in Germany. While studying in Germany, he won various scholarships. He has since successfully held hundreds of concerts in Germany, including solo, chamber music, symphony, opera and other forms of performances. In 2006, he took the role as a teaching assistant to Professor Martin Spangenberg. In 2008, he became a lecturer at the Joseph-Schmidt Music School (Berlin, Germany). In 2008 and 2009, he was successively admitted to the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra (Assistant Principal Clarinet) in Germany and the Germany's Rudolstadt Opera, also known as Turingen Symphony Orchestra (Principal Clarinet) with a French clarinet, becoming the first French clarinetist in the history of the two orchestras, and he is also the first Chinese clarinetist to enter a German professional orchestra.
In April 2009, his concert was broadcast live by German Radio. Later, he was invited by the National Center for the Performing Arts of China and successfully held lectures and concerts in August 2009. The German newspaper Pasewalk daily commented on his performance: "Fantasy and magical musical expression", "unparalleled technique and expression", "He makes everything possible with his clarinet!" He returned to China in 2010 and assumed a teaching role at the School of Arts of Renmin University of China. He has been invited by various colleges and universities across the country to perform concerts and deliver master classes. He is also a contracted artist of the world's largest musical instrument manufacturer Buffet and the principal ambassador of a well-known German reed mouthpiece manufacturer AW Company. He is currently the deputy secretary-general of the Clarinet Society of the Chinese Musicians Association, and the vice-president and secretary-general of the China Division of the Asian Wind Music Federation. Since 2012, he has served as a judge for several major competitions at home and abroad. He served as the artistic director of the 2014 Beijing International Clarinet Festival and the vice chairman of the jury for the First Asian International Wind Music Competition in 2016. His students have also won awards in many competitions, and he has also received various awards for performance and teaching.
