Naoki Aouda
Clarinet
Musician for the Tokyo Wind Symphony Orchestra, part-time lecturer in the music department at Komoro High School in Nagano Prefecture, and part-time lecturer in the art department at Sagamihara-Yaei Senior High School in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Naoki Aouda began playing clarinet in school at Nagano City’s Yanagimachi Junior High School, in their wind band. He graduated from the Musashino Academia Musicae. While attending university, he passed an internal audition to perform as a soloist with the university's orchestra. He has performed at the Musashino Academia Musicae graduation ceremony, the Yamaha Debut Concert, and the Nagano Prefecture Debut Concert. He was chosen for the 17th Takarazuka Vega Music Competition in the woodwind division. He was also selected for the clarinet section of the 20th Japan Woodwind Competition. In 2016, he played solo in Frank Ticheli's Clarinet Concerto at the 63rd regular Tokyo Wind Symphony Orchestra concert, held in the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre. He held a concert and workshop in Sri Lanka in 2017, at the request of the Japanese Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Colombo Wind Orchestra.
Aouda is currently the principal clarinetist and concertmaster for the Tokyo Wind Symphony Orchestra. He is also a part-time lecturer in the music department at Komoro High School in Nagano Prefecture. As well as being part of the Tokyo Wind Symphony Orchestra, he is working on performances for orchestras, wind ensembles, and musicals. He has studied clarinet with Takahiro Denda, Masaharu Yamamoto, and Masashi Togame. He has also studied chamber music with Michio Kai.
