Junji Nakayama

Part-time lecturer at Nagoya University of Arts, member of the Crescent Company, Sax Quartet METEOR, and Unità Della Sax.
Nakayama was born in Gifu City. He began playing saxophone in the brass band club of Gifu Technical High School. Nakayama enrolled in Nagoya University of Arts in 1998, and in 2003 he entered the Conservatory Gabriel-Fauré in Les Lilas, France. Nakayama studied chamber music at the Berlioz in Paris Conservatoire, and conducting at the Jacques Ibert Conservatory, Paris. After graduating from the same conservatory with a unanimous First Prize degree in 2004, he returned to Japan. In 2005 he held his debut recital at the Manabe Memorial Hall, Clara Saal, And in 2009 he held the Landscape of France joint project with the Gifu City Public Hall Management Foundation. In 2011, he founded L'équipe des amis, an ensemble group of saxophone lovers, and in 2012 the Nagoya Saxophone Quartet held a recital in Paris, France. In 2015, he opened his own saxophone studio, La Porte. Currently, in addition to performing largely in the Tokai area, also teaches the next generation of musicians. He is also a member of the Crescent Company, Unità Della Sax, and Sax Quartet METEOR. Nakayama studied the saxophone under Takashi Mikazuki, Makio Sakurai, Toshihisa Ogushi, Chiharu Lemarié, and Fabrice Moretti. Nakayama Part-time Lecturer at Nagoya University of Arts.
